 Our Balloons are manufactured by Lindstrand Balloons USA. Builders of the finest balloon systems in the world. They are federally registered aircraft and are inspected annually or every 100 hours of flight time, whichever comes first. Our balloon envelope called Smile High, shown right, holds 120,000 cubic feet of hot air. Our envelope called Hampshire High, shown below, holds 105,000 cubic feet of hot air. Each have enough lifting power to carry up to 1200 lbs. of passenger weight on an average New England day. There are two burners (engines) while some other balloons have only one. There are also independent fuel systems with quick shut off valves for maximum safety and redundancy.
They stand over 70 feet tall, and are over 60 feet in diameter. The balloon envelopes are constructed from more than 1000 square yards of rip stop nylon fabric, 1/2 mile of reinforcing nylon webbing and over 3 miles of thread.
Each balloon envelope weighs over 325 pounds and the basket with full fuel tanks, weighs over 500 pounds.
 The burners are fueled by liquid propane and can produce up to 30 Million BTU’s of heat when both burners are ignited.
Once inflated, the balloons and the air inside will weigh in excess of 2 tons.
